6Gig is a rock band from the Portland, Maine area. It is classified by reviewers as an aggro or nu-metal band. They actively play at clubs and different locations throughout New England. They have released two CDs as well as several singles. 6Gig consists of Walter Craven, Steve Marquis, Craig Weaver, and Jason Stewart. Hit the Ground is 6Gig's biggest hit so far. It appeared on National Lampoon's Van Wilder Official Movie Soundtrack, Ozzfest 2001 Summer Sampler, and various compilation albums. On the 2005 album Beautiful Locals, a compilation album of cover songs from Maine bands and artists, Paranoid Social Club, another Maine rock band, covers Hit the Ground.
